L & N Master Suite Remodel – Copperas Cove Interior Designer

I am SO PROUD to finally post the reveal of this very amazing master suite remodel and restyle for and EVEN MORE AMAZING sweet couple in Copperas Cove!

This couple contacted me in late 2018 – way ahead of their desired start date. We met and discussed their wishes to remodel and restyle their builder’s grade master bathroom. The main malfunction was the stand up shower – which was sadly lacking in elbow-room – quite literally. It would have been a challenge for a child to bathe in the existing space, so it was a real stretch for me to figure out how 2 grown people were using this tiny shower every single day. Sometimes builders cut corners in the strangest places – unfortunately it was the shower in this case.

Old School Style Designing

I went to work “old-school-style” with grid paper and ruler – and several Pearl erasers…and finally squeezed out every inch possible for an expanded shower space. It would involve removing a wall and borrowing a few inches from one of the vanities – but in the end it was all worth it! By angling the door entry to the shower, adding glass walls and niches – we maximized the space for everything it was worth!

The only thing that remains from the original bathroom is the corner bathtub – which will eventually be adorned with custom glass art in a herringbone pattern. Unfortunately, the windows were not ready for the final design install but I promise to update the gallery photos as soon as they are in place!

What We Did

The redesign included all new flooring, custom cabinets in the bath & walk-in closet, new paint, new lighting & plumbing fixtures, gorgeous Carrera marble vanities & accent tile in a herringbone pattern, multi-colored penny round shower floor tiles, and of course all the details like new towels, rugs & counter top accessories. The finished result – although a feat that challenged everyone’s patience…was one of the best I’ve seen.

In the master bedroom – we added new bedding, drapery panels, area rug and  perfectly sourced wall art and accessories to suit this couples sweetness & faith in each other and God.

Personal Touches

Personal touches included a framed quote from Corinthians, sweet personal notes from & to each of the pair for the nightstands and a relaxing coffee & reading retreat for Mr. to ease into his morning – in the comfort of a family heirloom chair perfectly lit by a cantilever drum light hanging gently overhead.

As a small token of my appreciation for this pair’s patience and trust in me to get the job done – I hung a beautiful wall piece named “God’s Fingerprint” above the head of the bed. It includes one verse from each chapter of the Bible in a fingerprint pattern – and it is a stunning visual as soon as you enter the space.

Focus on the End Goal

This project – just like any that I am involved in – was important, but even more, it was a test of perseverance when things get tough and frustrating. It taught me that in the end, no matter the fault of shortcomings or challenges when things don’t go quite right… the customer’s happiness is the most important goal.  Luckily I was working with quite literally – the most patient & understanding people on the planet – hands down.

A & S Main Floor Restyle – Copperas Cove Interior Designer

This was a 2nd project for an amazing repeat client in Copperas Cove. Last summer I worked with A & S on their master bedroom & bathroom remodel. It turned out so dreamy – a true retreat for a hard working couple at the end of the day. (See the A & S mastersuite make over HERE. )

This time around, A & S wanted the rest of the main floor to coordinate with the new design of the master suite. The spaces involved in Project 2 were the kitchen, breakfast area, formal dining room, family room and foyer. This project would entail new furniture, paint, lighting package, window treatments, rugs & decor.

The client liked the paint color in the master suite so much, she carried it on through the rest of the house for this project. The plan for the over-all theme was to keep it simple and classic -with just a touch of color & slight country feel. What we ended up with was a soothing, inviting and homey and two very happy clients.

The formal dining room and entry were finished out with all new furniture & accessories. This where a bit of color came in, inspired by the fun aztec rug we sourced online. We pulled the blues, greens & pinks and scattered them every-so-lightly over the space. And then…. we contrasted with the incredible stretched canvas photos in black & white that the client’s high school son took specifically for the project. The 6 canvases adorn the wall laid out in gallery style right above the sideboard. Long gray drape panels, 2 upholstered dining chairs and a rustic beam with exposed Edison light bulbs finished out this space with a personality & charm that will make a wonderful greeting with each walk through the front door.

In the family room we used tall ivory drape panels over the triple windows to allow light in while softening the hue in the space. A custom TV armoire was designed & built by Moseley Cabinets and we used the client’s existing coffee table, sofa & love seat. Lamps, mantle art and comfy pillows & throws helped bring it all together. Above the kitchen cabinets and across the counter tops – we used a few select pieces to bridge the gap between the formal and casual spaces.

It’s a Small World in Texas https://maisonchicinteriors.com/its-a-small-world-in-texas/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=its-a-small-world-in-texas Mon, 18 Mar 2019 20:42:35 +0000 https://maisonchicinteriors.com/?p=981

San Antonio Refresh

Sometimes fate does the strangest things where people and places are concerned. Such was the case in the San Antonio refresh …and you will love the result!

My client and I both migrated south from Missouri to Texas in the mid 1980’s and have been within 2 hours of each other all these years but neither of us knew it! Because of social media we are able to connect for his design project and I couldn’t be happier about it! His already gorgeous home in San Antonio needed just a little bit of order & personality and that is exactly what it received.

The Grand Family Room

This room takes your breath away no matter how many times you walk into it. I found myself marveling over the 2 story picture windows and gazing out across the tree tops probably more than I should have. A lodge-like feel lingered through this grand room with it’s massive limestone fireplace and rustic hardwood flooring. The client already had an amazing & lovingly worn curved leather sofa and beautiful custom upholstered chairs – all the space needed was a few carefully selected decor gems to pull it all together into rustic-elegant perfection. Large cellar jars, an hourglass collection, soft velvet & mohair pillows and a stunning copper top accent table were the crowning jewels in this grandiose space.

A Masterful Suite

Every bachelor should have one… just like this. Not much needed in this sprawling bedroom – just a few finishing touches that would reveal the stunner this room was always meant to be. Lovingly arranged family photos and personal art from years past, a reading space that now beckons for a good novel & night tables with the perfect touches for comfort and style.

Fun & Whimsy for Guests Old & Young

If you are lucky enough to be a guest at this palace – you will not be disappointed. Cozy up on the gigantic bean bag chair or comfy day bed for a game or movie night… and wake to a thoughtfully stocked coffee station on the kitchenette counter. Stroll down the walk way to the private bedroom and just try not to smile at the fun cow prints and adorable foot stool… I bet you can’t keep a straight face. Bright colors, feathers and cows adorn this space for all ages to enjoy.
