Hilltop Remodel & Refresh – Killeen TX

These clients had the patience of saints! Supply chain issues affect the design world too & this project was no exception… but patience and perseverance paid off so big with this gorgeous remodel and refresh.

Glam meets comfort in this design with bright and airy neutral grays – and then we added a touch of drama with the bold black accents.

The kitchen didn’t need much as the clients had already darkened the original stained cabinets to a moody & distressed black. The appliances were also previously updated but the original earth toned granite & backsplash remained. Together with the client we shopped for the perfect countertop stone and landed on a stunning white calcite choice with faint swirls of gray for an elegant marbled finish. The coordinating marble backsplash tile in a herringbone pattern, gold accents on the faucet and accessories set the tones for the rest of the open main living space.

After the old fireplace mantel was removed, we carried the marble herringbone tile onto the surround as well. Black shiplap on the facade with a simple stained mantel created a sleek and updated feel in the room. Comfy fabrics on the sofa, pillows & throws helped to warm up the space. Long casually elegant drape panels were the final pieces to bring the whole look together.

In the end, the client has an inviting, comfortable and gorgeous space to live in that is also a masterpiece to show off when entertaining opportunities come up!

Stunning Temple Kitchen Remodel

This sweet past client in Temple TX called on us again for another project! Her kitchen was in dire need of an update and that’s exactly what we gave it!

Since the footprint of the space would stay the same, we were able to save money by only replacing the cabinet doors in most places. This allowed the style to be updated and some minor function changes around the refrigerator area. The biggest cabinet transformation was in the space where the old pantry was located – we redesigned it into a stunning coffee bar with glass front cabinets & a beverage cooler.

Beams were installed on the ceiling for a bit of dimension and then further highlighted with updated integrated LED lighting. The pendants and dining chandelier shimmer with just the right sheen of gold – which we carried onto the backsplash and cabinet hardware as well. The calcite counters mimic the marble look the client desired while offering durability that marble can’t. New stainless steel appliances brought the space to the next level of style and function.

Casual drapes & rug plus the perfect amount of simple decor complete this gorgeous new kitchen with nothing being under or over-done.  The client was thrilled to see the space completed and has been enjoying it every day since!

Dallas Bachelor Pad Project 2020

Everyone needs a comfortable place to call home and this week we were able to help with that! A Dallas bachelor – a small apartment – and Maison Chic Interiors worked together to set up a stylish home in a simple and affordable way.

The Problem

One of the problems that apartment dwellers encounter when sourcing furniture that is the appropriate scale for a small space. Many of the name brand furniture stores offer endless options of large and over-stuffed sofas & chairs but they tend to look quite ridiculous in an apartment. We solved this problem by shopping in stores that offered smaller scale items while still providing comfortable seating.

The Solutions

The black sofa & bar stools were sourced at IKEA – which is famous for being the perfect place to maximize space! The rustic leather butterfly chair was found at Pottery Barn. Texture and comfort were added in the pillows, rug and throw. And like I have said in every other project…”lighting is everything.” Two inexpensive rice paper lamps flank the perfectly positioned TV console.

To bring just a touch of personality to the space – we added 2 black and white cactus photos and a fun letter board with a family quote that means a lot to the client. Artificial succulents always help to add a bit of green without saddling anyone with plant maintenance.

Our bachelor client was thrilled and so were we! Enjoy the before and after photos and let us know if you’re thinking about a new look in your space!

T & S Game Room Restyle – Temple Interior Designer https://maisonchicinteriors.com/t-s-game-room-restyle-temple-interior-designer/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=t-s-game-room-restyle-temple-interior-designer Mon, 02 Dec 2019 19:07:09 +0000 https://maisonchicinteriors.com/?p=1424

T & S Game Room Restyle – Temple Texas Interior Designer

Temple Interior Designer.

This project was fast & fun! A client who had recently added a game room addition to their home contacted Maison Chic Interiors about pulling it all together with decor and finishes. The room was perfectly designed around all the games and fun entertaining spaces that this family enjoyed – it just needed it’s own personality & that’s where we were able to help.

The Plan

Most of the anchor pieces were already in place – a pool table, sofa & love seat, poker table and big screen TV. After a quick consult with the client – we decided to utilize a nostalgic raw edge end table that was stuck back in a corner, replace the small trunk coffee table with something larger & find a rug that was less formal. The walls needed a slight touch of color against the white doors & trim so we selected a soft gray and left the vaulted ceiling white to show off the gorgeous wood beams. The client requested that the red corner wall remain as a celebration of their teenage son’s high school colors so red became one of the accent colors to mesh into the rest of the space.

The Details

This room really just needed the fine details – like textiles and specific wall art pieces that were fitting for a game room & would add interest without being cheesy. We selected a large canvas patent print of a playing card for the poker table area & replaced the small dart board with a stylish dart board cabinet.  A special display area for the client’s mini baseball bat collection was created above the snack bar along with a few old football and soccer balls. A set of 2 bats that were sentimental to the client’s teenage son were hung in a display case for safe keeping. Soft furry pillows and throws tossed on the sofas pulled the gigantic white minky-fur covered bean bags into the design with perfect precision. A large square wooden coffee table was the ideal location for a collectors version of everyone’s favorite Monopoly game set. Long simple ivory grommet drapes frame each window while still allowing in natural light from every angle.

Glass vases and jars became gorgeous vessels for vintage game & puzzle pieces on the raw edge end table. The snack bar and floating shelves were spruced up with color and game room themed decor plus a beautiful row of candy jars filled with the client’s favorite snacks. Family photos & fun frames sit atop the TV console.

Pièce de résistance

The crowing jewel for the game room restyle was the custom designed exposed bulb light fixture for the space above the pool table. Industrial Lightworks out of California worked with us to create the perfect piece and it was even better than we had imagined when it was installed. Amber Edison bulbs hang like sparkling jewels over the dark felted table & cast a warm, cozy glow across the entire room.

This restyled game room is functional, inviting, comfortable and beautiful all at once – definitely a place our clients will enjoy for years to come. Check out the before & after galleries below!

11072 LaPaloma – Salado New Construction Design

This one was a lot of “bold fun” – a designers dream come true!

RW Raymond Builders commissioned Maison Chic Interiors to collaborate on the interior design & finishes for a “spec” home that would show as a “true custom.” It had to be bold enough to stand apart but tame enough to appeal to the masses. It had to be just a little on the edge… but classy and timeless at the same time. Not an easy feat for anyone in the spec home building business but we pulled it off big time!

We started with a sprawling floor plan that boasted of wide open spaces and soaring ceilings and we could tell from the start that the natural light would be a huge friend if we could use it to the right advantage. A few tweaks on the kitchen cabinet layout and a thoughtful design plus an epic addition of our own in the formal dining room consisting of twin glass front towers, counter top server space and storage below.

A design concept was hatched that included white kitchen cabinetry with an accent of black door fronts placed ever-so-perfectly, a large black island, walk-in  plus pull-out pantries. Satin gold was the metal of choice but used very sparingly throughout the design. Custom wine glass hangers, wine bottle cubbies, corner bar cabinet & wine refrigerator sit proudly in one end of the kitchen. Not to detract from the gorgeous gray elongated hexagon backsplash tiles and show-stopping Tormenta Blanca calcite counter tops.

Simple glass globe pendants with the slightest gold shimmer hang like classy but understated jewelry atop the sprawling peninsula – the only thing dividing the gigantic open space between the family room and kitchen. Suspended in the casual dining area we added a statement – big, bold & gold lined. The drum light claims the space for its own and will be a stunner over what we can only hope will be a round table.

The fixture in the dining room is the talk of the town. A big statement no doubt and it’s as if it were made especially for this space. The modern wagon wheel light spans over 6 feet and is illuminated by 20 candelabra bulbs. A smaller but just as amazing replica adorns the foyer.

Owner’s Suite Magic

Prepare to be mesmerized as soon as you walk through the doorway to the owner’s suite. Situated just beyond the black shiplap wall in the family room – awaits a suite fit for a king ….or queen… or both. The shower is decked out with all the bells & whistles including room-to-roam, a handy shaving niche plus additional storage niches and a beautiful black hex tile floor. We carried the hex shape underneath the free-standing tub but in a white marble & black trim style and installed in an irregular pattern against the wood grain tile flooring. The original design didn’t call for a make-up vanity but any good bathroom should have one – so now this one does. The lighting in this space is certainly not to be forgotten… a glass drum chandelier and cylinder shades on the vanity lights were the crowning jewels.

All in all this home is a true masterpiece of epic proportions.  A true labor of love and creativity set forth by hard work, determination and creativity – sprinkled with the ability to flow elegantly & focus through unexpected challenges toward the end goal.

San Antonio Refresh

Sometimes fate does the strangest things where people and places are concerned. Such was the case in the San Antonio refresh …and you will love the result!

My client and I both migrated south from Missouri to Texas in the mid 1980’s and have been within 2 hours of each other all these years but neither of us knew it! Because of social media we are able to connect for his design project and I couldn’t be happier about it! His already gorgeous home in San Antonio needed just a little bit of order & personality and that is exactly what it received.

The Grand Family Room

This room takes your breath away no matter how many times you walk into it. I found myself marveling over the 2 story picture windows and gazing out across the tree tops probably more than I should have. A lodge-like feel lingered through this grand room with it’s massive limestone fireplace and rustic hardwood flooring. The client already had an amazing & lovingly worn curved leather sofa and beautiful custom upholstered chairs – all the space needed was a few carefully selected decor gems to pull it all together into rustic-elegant perfection. Large cellar jars, an hourglass collection, soft velvet & mohair pillows and a stunning copper top accent table were the crowning jewels in this grandiose space.

A Masterful Suite

Every bachelor should have one… just like this. Not much needed in this sprawling bedroom – just a few finishing touches that would reveal the stunner this room was always meant to be. Lovingly arranged family photos and personal art from years past, a reading space that now beckons for a good novel & night tables with the perfect touches for comfort and style.

Fun & Whimsy for Guests Old & Young

If you are lucky enough to be a guest at this palace – you will not be disappointed. Cozy up on the gigantic bean bag chair or comfy day bed for a game or movie night… and wake to a thoughtfully stocked coffee station on the kitchenette counter. Stroll down the walk way to the private bedroom and just try not to smile at the fun cow prints and adorable foot stool… I bet you can’t keep a straight face. Bright colors, feathers and cows adorn this space for all ages to enjoy.

D & K Kitchen Remodel & Restyle

D & K Kitchen Remodel & Restyle – From drab to FAB

OPEN CONCEPT KITCHEN & LIVING SPACE

Sometimes when a client calls about a specific room redo – and that project is complete… the remaining rooms stick out like a sore thumb. This was the case fo D & K. They originally contacted Maison Chic Interiors for a living & dining room restyle, and we worked hard to give them the refreshed & simplified look they desired. The living room was located in a very large open space that included a huge kitchen and casual eating area. Once we completed the remodel & restyle of the living area…the kitchen was clearly off regarding the style & dated theme. So, we put together a kitchen remodel plan to correct the design differences and melded the two areas together as if they were one again.

NEW CABINET DOORS

The kitchen remodel budget didn’t allow for all new cabinets, and the footprint of the kitchen didn’t need to be changed – so we opted for new cabinet doors and granite counter tops. Off came the tile tops and a few fresh slabs of Dallas White now adorns the surfaces. Stunning marble backsplash tiles created a clean & crisp transition from the counters to the cabinets.

LIGHTING IS EVERYTHING

Lighting was literally EVERYTHING in this space… and after hours of searching for the perfect combination – we put together a gorgeous set of sleek and functional lighting fixtures that became the crowning jewels for the entire room.

Along one side of the large open space was a wall that looked long forgotten. It was oddly spaced and placed considering it had no purpose. The client had placed a curio cabinet there in their original design but the piece no longer fit the new look, so we were left with an open and unused wall. A new bank of cabinets was designed & installed with a built-in beverage refrigerator. The new space was an excellent location for a custom coffee bar and that is exactly what it became.

CUSTOM COFFEE PHOTOGRAPHY

In the first talks about design, the client expressed her love for coffee and asked about a “coffee theme” for the kitchen. Folks…it’s really easy to end up with a cheesy result when you start trying to “theme” a room – but we came up with an amazing design that not only satisfied the client’s wishes – but added another layer of elegance to the space. A local photographer was sourced to capture & create black & white images of coffee related items & scenes. What we ended up with was a collection of beautifully matted and framed pieces that now grace the area above the cabinets in a gallery style layout.

MORE WOW IN OTHER ROOMS

The entire space now flows together as one, as well as coordinates with the adjoining rooms, dining, entry, office and game room.

Harker Heights Interior Design – 70s Ranch Remodel

70s Ranch Remodel Maison Chic Interiors was so honored to be part of this amazing remodel in Harker Heights. The client purchased a home that had undergone an extensive amount of work already but was unhappy with several elements of the restyle, specifically the kitchen. There was also a driving desire open the plan by removing the walls that divided the dining room & family room as well as the wall between the old galley style kitchen and the family room. The original house was very segregated and the vision was to create an inviting open concept that would allow for more practical use of the space.

This Harker Heights interior design masterpiece is a stunner! The formal dining room space was enclosed where once open at the entryway to create a fabulous butler pantry/laundry room with a one-of-kind custom hexagon shaped center island. The formal living room became the new dining table area and a large peninsula bar was installed in the kitchen to allow for convenient everyday dining. The kitchen received a complete overhaul complete with new custom shaker style cabinets, gorgeous white marbled quartz countertops, awe inspiring black & white patterned backsplash, a top of the line slide in range, built in convection microwave oven, custom vent hood and a sleek stainless steel farmhouse sink. A feature wall was added along the entry wall and continued under the bar top – adorned with stunning black shiplap.

This 70s Ranch Remodel became a breathtaking work of art full of personality, practicality and thoughtful features that only come with a custom design.

S & A contacted Maison Chic Interiors for a consult about their master suite. Their home is a beautiful Stylecraft home but lacked the luster that they wanted in a master retreat. We consulted with them about a complete master bathroom remodel plus a “refresh” in the master bedroom. The image below is the digital concept board that was created for the master bathroom remodel.

Soft grays & whites will replace the dark tile and paint. New light fixtures will provide better lighting while offering a glamorous touch. Bronze plumbing fixtures give a nice contrast & tie in the espresso vanity to the over all theme. Custom decorative shower niches act almost as pieces of integrated art – and provide function at the same time. “Shadow Storm” granite on the vanity top is a perfect touch of classy elegance in this amazing master bathroom remodel.
